Community Collaboration Builds New Home for Florida Family in Five Days
A Fresh Start Through Teamwork
In early February, local builders from the Orlando division joined forces to construct a new home for Anna Noguera, a single mother of three. For six years, Noguera and her children had lived in a motel room, struggling to save for better housing while covering basic expenses. Her situation changed when she was chosen by the Greater Orlando and Osceola County chapter of Habitat for Humanity to own a home in Apopka’s Arbor Bend neighborhood.
Perseverance Pays Off
Noguera’s journey to homeownership began over two years ago. After applying for Habitat for Humanity’s program, she completed 200+ volunteer hours and 17 homeownership classes to qualify. “It was so worth it to get us to where we’re standing right now,” she shared. Through partnerships with Orange County Government, she secured a zero-interest loan to manage mortgage payments affordably.
Five-Day Building Marvel
The rapid construction was part of the 2025 Builders Blitz, a collaborative effort involving Park Square Homes, PCL Construction, and Pulte Homes. Each builder contributed to creating homes for families in need. From laying foundations to installing appliances, the project required seamless coordination among framers, electricians, painters, and over 60 volunteers. A purchasing manager involved in the project remarked, “It was definitely the quickest I’ve seen a home built.”

A Life-Changing Moment
The team’s effort culminated in an emotional key ceremony. “It was very gratifying,” said the purchasing manager. “Seeing Anna’s speech and handing her the keys reminded us why this work matters.” For Noguera and her children, the five-day build marked the beginning of a brighter future.
